May 2022: SABN Lions Club Hosts Community Clean-up Event
In late May 2022, the San Antonio Bexar Necessities Lions Club partnered with the Morelos Coahuila Lions Club to participate in a community clean-up event. Six club members of the SABN Lions Club along with Marsil Padron, Queen of the Morelos Coahuila Lions Club, cleaned up trash and recycle items from a field just outside of San Antonio, Texas. The field is near a popular shopping area and movie theater, but outside of city-limit maintenance leading the area to be unkept. In total, eight bags of trash and three bags of recycle were collected.
Protecting the environment and cleaning up populated areas is an important component of advocating for and strengthening public health. "We were glad to be able to make such a difference in cleaning up a small area of our city," said Membership Co-Chair Bailey Bui. "We want to continue this goal and make our whole city a better, cleaner place for everyone."
