SABN Lions Club & Foundation Mobilizes Flood Relief Effort for Crystal City

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (July 22, 2026) — In response to the devastating floods that have impacted Crystal City and communities across South Texas, the San Antonio Bexar Necessities Lions Club & Foundation (SABN Lions Club & Foundation), in partnership with Sparky's Fireworks, is mobilizing volunteers and resources to assist families as they begin the difficult process of cleaning up and recovering from the disaster.

The flooding has affected countless homes, including members of the Lions family and their loved ones. On Saturday, July 25, volunteers from the SABN Lions Club will travel to Crystal City to work alongside local partners, helping families remove debris, clean flood-damaged homes, and begin restoring safe living conditions.

"Our mission as Lions has always been to serve where the need is greatest," said Martin Padrón, Jr., President of the San Antonio Bexar Necessities Lions Club. "This disaster has impacted families within our own Lions community, making this effort especially personal. Recovery doesn't end when the floodwaters recede. That's when the real work begins, and we're committed to standing alongside these families as they take the first steps toward rebuilding."

To support these efforts, the SABN Lions Club & Foundation has launched a fundraising campaign to purchase flood cleanup tools, protective equipment, bottled water, household cleaning products, and other essential supplies needed by volunteers and affected families.

Current needs include:

• Heavy-duty contractor trash bags

• Work gloves and protective equipment

• Shovels, push brooms, buckets, and cleanup tools

• Household cleaning products and disinfectants

• Bottled water

• Gift cards and other essential recovery supplies

The organization is also seeking additional volunteers for the July 25 cleanup effort. Final logistics are being coordinated, and interested volunteers are encouraged to register so they can receive updates as plans are finalized.

Community members, businesses, and organizations are invited to support the relief effort through financial contributions, in-kind donations of flood cleanup supplies, or by volunteering their time. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the SABN Lions Club & Foundation will use donated funds to purchase and deliver supplies where they are needed most.

Businesses interested in donating supplies, equipment, bottled water, food, gift cards, or other resources are encouraged to contact the SABN Lions Club & Foundation to coordinate donations.

The organization is also asking fellow Lions Clubs and community partners throughout Texas to share the relief effort, connect the club with local contacts in affected communities, and help expand the network of support for families recovering from the floods.
