Club Secretary Receives Award from UT Health San Antonio
Joseph Reyna, a dedicated member of our Lions Club since 2021 and the current club secretary, has recently been honored with the "Student of the Semester" award from UT Health San Antonio. Joseph, who is pursuing his studies in the School of Nursing, has shown exceptional dedication not only to his education but also to his community.
The award, which is based on nominations from students, faculty, and community partners, highlights Joseph's outstanding contributions to both his academic endeavors and his service to others. His wife, Francia, took to Facebook to express her pride in Joseph's accomplishments, stating, "Joseph’s time at the Children’s Bereavement Center caused the professionals there to email his professors about the difference he made. To me, that speaks volumes about his character. He has a heart and the compassion for nursing and taking care of others."
The Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas, where Joseph volunteered, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children affected by the loss of a loved one. Through his involvement with this organization, Joseph demonstrated his deep compassion and commitment to helping those in need during difficult times.
Despite the challenges of balancing his studies and caring for his family, including a newborn, Joseph has continued to excel in his academic pursuits and serves as a beacon of light to others. Francia emphasized, "Even now going through his classes and clinicals, I see Joseph using his God-given talents and time to be a light to others. The best husband, the best papi, and the best nurse."
In response to Joseph Reyna's remarkable achievement, the members of the San Antonio Bexar Necessities Lions Club extend their heartfelt congratulations and admiration. Joseph's dedication to his studies, his service to the community, and his embodiment of the Lions Club values make him a source of pride for all of us. As he continues to pursue his passion for nursing and making a difference in the lives of others, we stand behind him, cheering him on every step of the way. Here's to Joseph's continued success and the positive impact he will undoubtedly continue to make in the world.
Congratulations, Joseph!
