Spring/Summer 2023: Reflecting on Service, Renewing Commitment
The San Antonio Bexar Necessities Lions Club recently convened for its 2nd Annual Club Retreat, embarking on a journey of reflection, learning, and renewal. The day unfolded with a captivating presentation by Jessica Davila, a beacon of leadership in our community, who ignited our spirits with insights on effective leadership and maximizing our impact.
Jessica's words resonated deeply, setting the tone for a day of introspection and collaboration. We delved into discussions on influencing others and brainstormed strategies to achieve our club's goals for the year ahead. With minds ablaze and hearts aligned, we charted a course that promised to elevate our service to new heights.
But the retreat wasn't just about reflection; it was also an opportunity for hands-on learning and skill-building. Guided by the expert instructors from CPR San Antonio, we immersed ourselves in a CPR class, equipping ourselves with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in times of crisis. The experience served as a poignant reminder of the importance of being prepared to serve our community in any situation.
As we wrapped up the day, hearts full and spirits rejuvenated, we couldn't help but marvel at how far we've come in the past six months. We looked through photos that captured snapshots of our journey, from the jubilant celebrations of Pride Parade and Festival to the moments at Dia Del Nino Festival in Coahuila, Mexico. Each event, each endeavor, a testament to our unwavering commitment to service and compassion.
From attending conventions to hosting fundraisers, from collecting eyeglasses to nurturing gardens, our club has left an indelible mark on our community. And as we gaze upon these memories, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve, and a renewed sense of purpose for the year ahead.
With hearts brimming with enthusiasm and minds ablaze with possibilities, we eagerly anticipate the adventures that lie ahead. Together, as Lions, we stand ready to make a difference, one act of kindness at a time.
