Sep 2022: SABN Lions Club volunteers at the 9th Annual Head for the Cure 5K
The San Antonio Bexar Necessitates Lions Club woke up early this morning for a 5:30am call to service. We gathered at Providence High School to volunteer for the 9th Annual Head for the Cure 5K.
“The mission of Head for the Cure is to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy”.
They accomplish this by building awareness, raising funds, and igniting hope.
We were happy to do our part in this important initiative by helping with setup and breakdown, staffing two booths, and guiding runners along the running trail.
Our group feels that even the smallest acts of service help to make an impact in our community.
We had a great time working together and meeting new people through out the day. Thank you to our Service Chair Evette Vara-Davis for organizing today’s activity! It was a great way to support and observe Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
